Strictly Come Dancing fans noticed a telling clue about Wynne Evans and Katya Jones on the live show after the 'grope gate' drama unfolded.

The BBC competition returned for its latest live show after Wynne and Katya came under fire after last week's show. The Go Compare opera singer placed his hand on Katya's waist - which she immediately removed while on the live show - last weekend and the moment immediately went viral.

Shortly afterwards, the duo took to social media to insist the moment was simply an "inside" joke and wasn't to be taken seriously. However, fans weren't satisfied with the explanation and Wynne ended up addressing the situation again while on a radio show. He said he was "heartbroken" things had gone as far as they had, as there was nothing un-toward between the two.

Wynne and Katya moved on from the awkward moment and have been showing fans glimpses into their wholesome friendship on social media. But on Saturday evening's live show, fans pointed out that Katya and Wynne weren't properly seen on camera in a few background shots of the stars.

An 'inside joke' between them went viral last week

One user imagined a fake scenario with the staff, writing on X/ Twitter : "Production manager 'Keep Katya and Wynne out of all back round shots I repeat keep Katya and Wynne out of all back round shots'." Another joked: "It's time for Strictly No Touching With Wynne and Katya!"

Another joked they were 'doing damage control'. One Strictly viewer posted: "Wynne & Kat not in the group with Claudia," and added a gif of someone stroking their chin inquisitively. Katya and Wynne previously showed up on Strictly spin off show It Takes Two where they once again addressed the situation.

Katya said: "Quite frankly I can't bear sitting here watching this man being portrayed as someone he is not. And in fact it couldn't be further away from the truth so I have to make this absolutely clear, that this whole incident with the hand and the high five on Saturday night, it was an inside joke between Wynne and I. Was it a silly joke, yes, was it a bad joke, yes."

Opera singer Evans, known for the Go Compare insurance adverts, said he had watched the moment back and he "could see how people may have misinterpreted it". Jones added: "Even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is total nonsense. Those that have doubts, you guys have got it wrong. Hopefully this will be the end of it. He just keep making me smile please, because my Sunday was pretty boring without you making me belly laugh all day long."
