Lorraine Kelly's daughter Rosie Smith wanted to pull down barriers when it came to speaking honestly about postpartum struggles.

The Scottish host's daughter made her first TV debut on her mum's self-titled ITV programme on Tuesday (October 15) to showcase her beautiful newborn, baby Billie, who was born just six weeks ago.

Of course, TV star and new granny Lorraine, was proud as punch as she introduced Rosie, Billie and Dr Hilary Jones to her set to chat openly about anxiety after giving birth - which is hugely common but also a very taboo subject.

On the important subject Rosie shared: "I didn't really know about postpartum anxiety. I think a lot of people say your hormones are mental and you have all these feelings."

She was interrupted by Billie as Rosie continued: "I think she's just done something," with mum Lorraine adding: "That's fine!"

Rosie continued: "I was very prepared to feel like, 'I'm not good enough, I'm doing well enough,' but I wasn't prepared for not feeling safe as I thought, 'That's not normal.'"

But Dr Hillary assured her: "It is normal. 15 percent of women postnatally will feel anxious and worried about everything. You have a new responsibility but you're also tired.

"You have sleep deprivation and your hormones are taking a huge drop and all of that has a huge influence physiologically on your body and on your mind. You'll worry about everything, Steve, the baby."

Rosie explained: "Yeah I was more worried about him and that someone was going to get him." Dr Hillary added: "That's normal and it will all disappear."

"After six weeks, I feel the fog has lifted," reassured Lorraine's daughter.
