PlayStation State of Play: start time, leaks, predictions including Horizon and Days Gone remasters

Hopes are high for the next PlayStation State of Play, and we luckily don't have to wait long to see what lies in wait.

It’s time. The first PlayStation State of Play since the reveal of the PS5 Pro is almost here.

The new PlayStation State of Play is a big moment for many, especially those who weren’t deterred by the abysmal PS5 Pro price reveal. Rumours are beginning to swirl about what we could expect from the livestream, and though it likely won’t be the barnstormer that many expect a full PlayStation showcase to be, there are still hopes that some big games will get a reveal that will make the most of the enhanced capabilities of the new souped-up hardware of the PS5 Pro. We’re going to have to wait and see, though, as there’s only so far we can get with mere speculation.

We've got to tune in to find out what's coming, though, so here's how you can watch tonight's big showcase.

PlayStation State of Play start time

The PlayStation State of Play start time is 11pm BST / 6pm EDT / 3pm PDT today, on Tuesday, September 24. The showcase will be broadcast in both English and Japanese across YouTube and Twitch. The stream is set to last 30 minutes.

You can watch the official streams from PlayStation, or you can join the Mirror Gaming team for a slumber party stream over on our YouTube channel, where we’ll break down every reveal as it happens.

PlayStation State of Play leaks and predictions

When it comes to predicting what is to be seen in this State of Play, we’re lucky to have seen some big rumours making the rounds on Twitter, with the leading expectation being that we could see a remastered Horizon Zero Dawn, even though the game is perfectly playable on the PS5 and looks phenomenal already. This claim has come from an ESRB listing that has since been taken down and shared by @Wario64.

It’s a deeply strange indication from PlayStation that we could receive a remaster of a game that could barely improve on its visual fidelity, which also goes for the newly-rumoured remastered Days Gone, hinted at by @JordanMiddler, referring to creative director John Garvin's frustrations that the game's protagonist made an appearance in Astro Bot (via Twitter). If these games truly exist, we’re likely to see them appear here.

We’re likely to get more trailers for Silent Hill 2, Lego Horizon Adventures and Death Stranding 2 (if we’re lucky), fans are clamouring for the appearance of a new Resident Evil game and hopefully, we’ll get to see a collection of high-quality indie titles too. There are expected appearances for Metaphor: ReFantazio and Assassin's Creed Shadows too. Don’t get your hopes up for Hollow Knight: Silksong, though – we’ve made that mistake too many times before.

The show could be a treat for players, or it could be a mere flop – we're just going to have to tune in before we pass judgment on what Sony has up its sleeve. If anything.
