Ruth Langsford feels 'ready to date' again as Eamonn Holmes divorce 'turns sour'

Ruth Langsford has reportedly made the “most” of being single following her split from ex-husband Eamonn Holmes, but is ready to "dip her toe" back into dating

Ruth Langsford is reportedly ready to "dip her toe" back into dating after her shock split from Eamonn Holmes earlier this year, a source has claimed.

The former This Morning power couple shocked fans in May when they announced they were breaking up after 14 years of marriage and had begun the “process of divorcing”.

Ruth is believed to have hired a top lawyer, Catherine Costley, to deal with the proceedings, with sources previously claiming that it could get "very, very tricky”.

Meanwhile, Closer magazine said her once "amicable" split has turned sour, while Eamonn, 64, has recently been spotted on a lavish cruise with his new partner, Katie Alexander, 42, which reportedly left Ruth “gobsmacked”.

However, a source has told Closer that Ruth is taking her first steps back into the world of dating, despite feeling “understandably nervous”.

They claimed: "While Ruth's making the most of being single, she's also ready to dip her toe back into the dating pool - and after some friendly flirting, she's given pals the go-ahead to set her up on dates.

"She's really excited for that first date, and while she's understandably nervous, she can't wait for the tummy flutters of falling for someone again and experiencing all the 'firsts' with a new boyfriend."

Katie and Eamonn also recently travelled to Barcelona, where the GB News presenter was seen with his arms around her. They were later spotted arriving at his bachelor pad in Kingston.

Eamonn reportedly returned to the home he previously shared with Ruth in Surrey to collect some clothes prior to the cruise. However, a source revealed that his ex had taken out the £2,000 stairlift that the star had previously used to reach the bedroom.

They said Ruth “doesn't need it” as she’s “super-fit and healthy”, but “she knew” Eamonn “probably would struggle” when he had to visit the house to “get some bits he needed” for the holiday.

They told The Daily Mail: "It might seem petty but Ruth's friends think it is absolutely hilarious as they think he has really taken her for a ride. You can imagine how furious Eamonn was. He was probably expecting to be able to use the stairlift to get his stuff and quickly get out again and pack for his holiday.”

It comes after a friend of the former couple explained that Ruth had “become more his carer than a wife” as Eamonn battled chronic back pain, having undergone spinal surgery in 2022.
