Taylor Swift has generously donated a whopping $5 million (£3.8m) to aid hurricane relief efforts in Florida.

The 'Karma' singer, who is set to continue her 'Eras' tour in the state next week, has been lauded for her substantial contribution to help those impacted by Hurricane Helene and those bracing for another natural disaster, Hurricane Milton. Feeding America, a non-profit organisation, expressed their gratitude on Twitter.

They wrote: "We are incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift for her generous $5 million donation to Hurricane Helene and Milton efforts. This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms."

Feeding America added: "Together we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need." Hurricane Helene took the lives of over 230 individuals and left significant damage, while Hurricane Milton - currently a Category 4 storm with winds around 130mph - is expected to wreak havoc on Florida's western coast.

In December, Taylor also donated $1 million (£766k) to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to assist those whose homes and livelihoods were destroyed by storms and tornadoes. Originally from Pennsylvania, the 33-year-old singer moved to Nashville in her teens to chase her musical dreams. Her donation will be used for food, temporary housing, clean-up efforts, and more.

Taylor Swift made a generous donation of $1 million in March 2020 to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund following the tragic tornadoes that resulted in fatalities and widespread destruction. She expressed her heartache, saying: "Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me."

Moreover, the celebrated Grammy winner has extended her benevolence to food poverty organisations in locations where her 'Eras Tour' has stopped.
