Theme park visitors have been evacuated from a popular rollercoaster at Alton Towers.

Riders at the popular attraction were left stunned by the evacuation, which they believe was triggered by a fire alarm. Shocking footage that has been shared on social media has shown the ride as it bellowed a loud alarm.

One person wrote on social media: "Wicker Man at Alton Towers being evacuated due to a fire alarm."

Another commented: "You can’t make this up, the fire alarm has triggered again."
