Teen girl yelled 'I'm going to f***ing kill you' during 'stabbing attack' at Ammanford school

Swansea Crown Court heard that the teen descended on teachers with a bladed fishing tool during the "major incident" at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, in Ammanford, South Wales

The teenage girl accused of carrying out shock stabbings at a UK school said "I’m going to f**ing kill you" as she attacked two teachers and a pupil during her alleged rampage, a court has heard.

The unnamed schoolgirl, 14, has been accused of producing a silver bladed fishing tool which she had hidden in her trouser pocket to stab two teachers, Fiona Elias, 48, and Liz Hopkin, 53. Swansea Crown Court heard a pupil was also stabbed when the girl turned the attack on her during the rampage at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, in Ammanford, South Wales.

She was allegedly asked by Ms Elias, the assistant head teacher, what she was doing in the hallway without permission when she was noticed playing with something in her pocket. Prosecutors recounting the incident told the court that the student allegedly asked if the teacher wanted to "see what’s in my pocket?” before launching into the attack, and that she viewed her following arrest as a path towards "celebrity".

Prosecutor William Hughes KC said the girl yelled "I’m going to f***ing kill you", adding she had “sinister eyes” during the attack and that Mrs Elias was the “primary focus”. The deputy head was stabbed in the arm multiple times, and she said Mrs Hopkin was injured as she tried to stop the girl stabbing her colleague.

Special educational needs teacher Mrs Hopkin tried to restrain her and called for assistance before being stabbed four times - with wounds to her neck, back, legs and arms - and became the “most seriously injured” of the three. Two male members of staff, Stephen Hagget joined by veteran rugby teacher Darrell Campbell, surrounding the pupil who had “a vacant look on her face” and tried to calm her down.

She then allegedly targeted a nearby pupil, stabbing the her in the upper torso and leg while saying “I’m going to f***ing kill you” before being pulled off. All three alleged victims were taken to hospital for treatment but later released to recover at home. The school was placed into a “code red” lockdown for several hours before pupils were able to leave at about 3.20pm.

Swansea Crown Court was played CCTV footage of the attack on the two teachers at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, also known as Amman Valley School, in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire.

Police were called to the school and the teenager - with marks and scratches on her arms - was detained in a classroom before officers arrived and later arrested her. While with officers, she was alleged to have said “I suppose things like this don’t happen very often” and asked “if they’re dead.”

The court also heard how the girl told police “that’s one way to be a celebrity” after the attack. Opening the girl’s trial on Monday, William Hughes KC, prosecuting, said that she told police officers after she was arrested: "I’m pretty sure this is going to be on the news. So more eyes will be looking at me. That’s one way to be a celebrity."

Mr Hughes said that while officers were searching her family home later that day, they found a notebook with a drawing of a female with words suggesting killing and death. He said that it was “demonstrative her intent at the time and intent to kill”.
The girl, denies three charges of attempted murder.

The trial is estimated to last around two weeks and continues before Judge Paul Thomas KC.
