by Ayeesha Walsh · The MirrorAlison Hammond has admitted that her teenage son gives her relationship advice.
The This Morning host opened up about her close bond with her son Aiden and how he supports her in her romance with toyboy David Putman, 26. It was revealed she was dating David earlier this year after they were spotted enjoying a series of days out together.
Now Alison, 49, says Aiden, 19, gives her expert advice on her love life. Speaking on Romesh Ranganathan's Parents Evening alongside Aiden - which airs on ITV1 this weekend - the pair were asked who is the best when it comes to giving advice.
Alison replied directing her comments at Aiden: "When it comes to relationship advice you're very good! But when it comes to career advice I'm not sure!" Alison - known for her loud personality - also admitted that she has a tendency to talk too much.
She said: "Yeah maybe I overshare a little bit. I'll probably overshare in the show." Alison has previously admitted that Aiden approved of David who works as a dancer and model but studied body therapy at uni and claims he can help with “classic, lymphatic drainage, anti-cellulite, wraps, and facial massage”.
The appearance comes after Alison is said to be at a crossroads in her career, as she doesn’t want to stay on ITV's This Morning "forever". A source told Closer that the 49-year-old star is at a crucial point in her career, as she weighs up options about whether to stick or twist.
They claimed: “Alison feels like she’s now at a bit of a crossroads in her career, and that the time is coming for her to move on and try something new. Alison doesn’t want to do This Morning forever, and in her heart, it feels like the time is coming close to moving on.
" This Morning has taken a bit of a hit in recent years, and while Alison loves doing the show, it's been a lot of pressure on her.” The source said that as well as the early starts, Alison also felt the pressure of trying to turn the show’s ratings around after a tumultuous period.
Furthermore, the insider said that moving away from This Morning could give Alison more time to focus on her family and David. They ruminated: “Her family and friends are her world, and leaving This Morning would free up some time for her there too, as well as allowing time for David and their relationship.”
Alison previously addressed rumours that she and David were engaged after she was seen sporting a sparkling band on her ring finger, she denied they were at that stage yet. She said: “Let me swap it over, because we don't want those rumours going out there, do you know what I mean? Not just yet. Maybe one day, who knows.”
