Roman Kemp breaks silence after sparking engagement rumours with cryptic post

Roman Kemp decided to break his silence on social media after it was rumoured he had popped the question to his girlfriend of a few months Carmen Gaggero after she wore a ring

TV presenter Roman Kemp breaks his silence after rumours started to circulate that his friends were confirming he asked his girlfriend of a few months, to marry him.

The One Show star,31, went public with his girlfriend Carmen Gaggero last month but the couple had actually been dating months before. When speculation of an engagement emerged a few days go, Roman remained tight-lipped - until now. Taking to Instagram, he posted a series of pictures, one of which showed him sat on a patterned sofa dressed in a baseball cap turned backwards and a American football themed top. But his expression made him look as though he was literally exasperated.

In one snap he is standing in his kitchen with football cards sprawled out in front of hi. Meanwhile, in another he is seen with boxing promoter Eddie Hearn holding up football shirts. He captioned the post: "A month of bad photos, football cards and Pokemon cups."

And his fans were quick to comment. One person said: "U look great still." Another person added: "Did @eddiehearn ever wear the Arsenal shirt? Did I miss it?" And a third simply wrote "cute." But it looks as though some fans were expecting him to address rumours of an engagement as another fan questioned: "Are we saying congratulations orrr?"

And another said: "I would still marry you." At the time of the rumours, a source told MailOnline: "Roman has popped the question and Carmen said yes. Roman has long wanted to settle down and start a family so it's such an exciting time for them. He's been seeing Carmen for a few months now and feels strongly she is the one. Roman's mum Shirlie is also over the moon and has been telling friends how excited she is for the wedding."

Speaking of his love life on Diary Of A CEO podcast, he explained that he is striving to find a love like that of his mum and dad, Martin Kemp and Shirlie Kemp. He said: "Women that have their life plan and are busier, that attracts me more than anything. You look at the girls I've dated in the past, they're girls that are doing their own thing and they're f***ing good at it."

He added: "It's one of the reasons, to be totally honest with you, that I don't really date English girls, ever. I love someone not knowing what I do for a living. I love someone not caring at all."
