Police called to Manchester following reports of man on roof of a building

Emergency services were called to Collyhurst following reports of a man on the roof of a building. Police descended on Rochdale Road following after receiving a concern for welfare call on Monday evening (October 21).

Many emergency services were reportedly seen in the area including the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service which deployed two fire engines from Blackley and Phillips Park which were at the scene for around four hours.

The man was brought to safety in the early hours of Tuesday (October 22). A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 9.48pm yesterday on Monday 21 October 2024, police were called by emergency services colleagues to a report of a concern for the welfare of a man on the roof of a building on Rochdale Road.

"The man was brought down safely in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 22 October)."
