The new comedy-drama series Nobody Wants This is set to premiere on Netflix on September 26, starring Kristen Bell as Joanne and Adam Brody as Noah, an unconventional rabbi, in a turbulent romance.

Kristen Bell, 44, from Michigan, has had a successful acting career, starting with her title role in Veronica Mars, followed by roles in Heroes and as the voice of Gossip Girl. She also voiced Princess Anna in the Disney Frozen films.

Born to parents Lorelei, a registered nurse, and Tom, a TV news editor, Kristen told her parents at the age of four that she didn't like her first name, so they encouraged her to use her middle name, Anne, until high school.

In her personal life, Kristen dated Kevin Mann for five years before breaking up in 2007. She then started dating actor Dax Shepard and got engaged in 2010.

However, they delayed their marriage until California passed same-sex marriage legislation, reports the Mirror.

In a 2023 interview with ET Online, Kristen shared the secrets to her successful marriage with Dax, saying, "Common goals, seek them out. Our kids are a common goal, right?" She also expressed her desire to work with her husband, saying, "I respect him so much creatively. I have so much trust in him. Of course, I want him to be my director or my scene partner."

The 49-year-old star of The Ranch and his wife welcomed two daughters into their lives, one in March 2013 and the other in December 2014.

It wasn't until 2016 that Kristen revealed her battles with depression and anxiety, issues that began during her college years.

Speaking to Motto, she shared: "I felt plagued with a negative attitude and a sense that I was permanently in the shade. I'm normally such a bubbly, positive person, and all of a sudden I stopped feeling like myself."

She continued, "There was no logical reason for me to feel this way. I was at New York University, I was paying my bills on time, I had friends and ambition-but for some reason, there was something intangible dragging me down."

Emphasising the importance of seeking help, she added, "Luckily, thanks to my mom, I knew that help was out there-and to seek it without shame."

For the first 15 years of her career, she kept her mental health struggles private.

Upon deciding to get help, she expressed: "It's important for me to be candid about this so people in a similar situation can realize that they are not worthless and that they do have something to offer. We all do."
