Paddy McGuinness says he had 'pants pulled down' in jab at ex-wife Christine

Top Gear star Paddy McGuiness has taken a jab at his ex-wife, Christine McGuiness, during his first stand-up comedy show in over a decade.

Paddy, 50, split from Christine, 36, in 2022 after 11 years together. The former couple share three children - twins Leo and Penelope, 11, and eight-year-old Felicity.

Model and former beauty queen, Christine, shocked fans earlier this year when she divulged that she and her ex-husband still live in the same house to co-parent their kids, who have all been diagnosed with autism, to make it easier for them, as the Mirror reports.

The couple have been open following their divorce, both sharing glimpses of their lives as newly single. Paddy returned to live comedy for the first time in almost a decade to perform his Nearly There show, while Christine has hinted at being in a new relationship.

It apparently only took Paddy a minute before he made a joke about his divorce from Christine, who he was married to for 11 years. Performing at King George's Hall in Blackburn, Paddy said it was 'all about love and respect tonight' and that he didn't care "what race you are, what religion, what your sexuality is."

He also said, according to The Sun: "Tonight, folks, we’re all here as human beings with one common goal — and that’s to help me pay for my divorce. I’ve had the pants down, me, the pants down." The Mirror have reached out to Christine's representatives for comment on this story.

It comes after Christine revealed ex-husband Paddy is rarely at home with their children as she said co-parenting was “not easy”. In a new interview, she claimed the Top Gear funnyman was at home just five days over the summer. Christine was previously criticised online for going on holiday.

However, she explained that she only takes trips when her ex is at home with the kids - and that has been just a handful of days in recent months. The model admitted that Paddy working away has helped her to “mentally be OK with co-parenting”, and she enjoyed going away when her ex was home.

“Co-parenting means that when he’s back, he’s entitled to his time and it’s good for the children – they love spending time together. So it makes sense for me to disappear for a couple of days and enjoy it,” she told new! magazine. However, Christine confessed she will “really struggle” when the time comes for her and Paddy to live in separate houses, and sadly added that it will be a “massive shock” to the family.
