Tragedy as body found in woodland in search for missing man

Dennis Wyatt, 66, went missing on Sunday, November 3, when he was last seen on Park Road in Parr. 'Extensive enquiries' were being carried out by Merseyside Police in a bid to trace him.
The body of a man was later found by a member of the public at around 10.25am on Sunday in an area of woodland. The death is currently being treated as 'unexplained', with investigations ongoing.

A post-mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death. The body is still yet to be formally identified, but Mr Wyatt's family have been informed of the development and are being supported, police said.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Officers investigating the disappearance of 66-year-old Dennis Wyatt can confirm that a body of a man was found yesterday, Sunday 10 November.
"Mr Wyatt went missing on Sunday 3 November and since then extensive inquiries have been carried out by officers to find him.
"The body of a man was found by a member of the public at around 10.25am yesterday, Sunday 10 November, in woodland off Boardmans Lane, in St Helens.
"Mr Wyatt’s family have been informed and are being supported by officers from Merseyside Police at this sad time. At this time the death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem examination will take place to establish the cause. The body is yet to be formally identified."
