A heartbreaking photo of a baby who miraculously survived after her mum fell from a tower block has been shared by her sister.

Pregnant Emma Atkinson tragically died after falling from a 90-foot tower block in Leeds on Tuesday morning. Her baby Posie was delivered prematurely, at five weeks early, and remains in critical care hooked up to lifesaving tubes.

A picture of the little girl has now been shared on Facebook, showing her in hospital with her big sister Demi by her side, the Mirror reports. The Manchester Evening News has not shared the photo out of respect and dignity for the baby and her family.

Mum-of-five Emma, who was known to many as Emma Acko, had named the unborn girl just weeks before her tragic death. In a final heartbreaking post on Facebook from a month ago, the mum shared an image cradling her pregnancy bump in a mirror selfie while a young child embraced her legs.

Alongside the picture, she wrote: "It's a girl, couldn't be happier." Leeds Live visited the scene on Wednesday where a good friend of Emma’s, Martyne Taiwo, knelt at the scene where she fell, and where a floral arrangement had been laid out.

Martyne said: "She’d helped me through my darkest time, we had been inseparable since we were young. It’s just the end of an era for us. I never believed she’d do anything like that. I just don’t understand it."

Tributes have also poured in on social media. Commenting on Facebook, Sarah Whapham said: "A call I was not expecting this morning has left us in complete shock.

"Emma you had the biggest personality & the biggest heart. My beautiful cousin rest peacefully."

Another post from Megan Moore remembered her as a 'beautiful lady'. She wrote: "Rest in peace you beautiful lady. I cannot believe I'm actually writing this.

"Always a beautiful soul in and out...Thinking of your children at home and praying for your baby girl in hospital will be okay."
