Mums' heartbreaking tribute to son, 22, found dead near family home

The mum of a young man found dead near his family home hours after going missing has paid an emotional tribute to her 'special' son.

Aiden Kinnear, 22, was reported missing by his concerned family on Wednesday (October 9). It prompted a frantic search, involving Greater Manchester Police. Hours later his body was discovered on the edge of Phillips Park, near the National Cycling Centre, a short distance from the family's home.

Emergency service were seen racing to the area off Fairclough Street. Now Aiden's devastated mum Kerry has paid tribute to her 'kind-hearted' son.

Speaking for her family, she told the Manchester Evening News: "Our son Aiden was an amazing young man. He was kind-hearted, caring and a special person to each and every person close to him.

"Aiden loved his family and spending time with his friends. We will hold Aiden in our hearts forever and will never forget a memory we shared."

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At 6:45pm on Wednesday 9 October, we were called to report of concern for welfare of a man at Fairclough Street, Manchester.

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services, a 22-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene. We do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding this incident and a file has been passed to the Coroner."

Manchester Coroners' Court confirmed a file had been received in relation to Aiden's death.
