Liam Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy's emotional message with one of last pictures of tragic star

Liam Payne's partner posted an emotional message to him just days before his shock death. Kate Cassidy uploaded what is now one of the last pictures of the former One Direction star who died after falling from a balcony of a hotel in Argentina.

The heartwarming picture, which was shared on TikTok, showed a serene moment with Payne sat on a horse as the pair went riding together. "I am very grateful for the simple things in life," Cassidy said alongside the image.

News of Payne's death emerged last night after his fatal fall from the third storey of an upmarket hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday afternoon.

The dreadful event took place at Hotel CasaSur located in the Argentine capital's Palermo area, with local reports surfacing shortly after.

Merely hours before his death, Payne was posting online, showcasing snapshots of his meals and expressing enthusiasm for the polo match he was to attend. In a selection of clips, the 31-year-old singer captured footage of his girlfriend Kate over breakfast, offering followers a sneak peek into their time at a pal's residence, Birmingham Live reports.

Liam is heard narrating during one of these video clips, saying: "This is the breakfast table, just enjoying breakfast and coffee even though it's 1pm," while Kate playfully contributes from off camera, branding them "losers" for their delayed start, reports the Express.

Liam and Kate had been in a relationship since October 2022, dazzling the public with their first joint red carpet appearance a couple of months after. Their bond appeared to be flourishing, as evidenced when Kate accompanied Liam to the premiere of "All of Those Voices," a documentary by Louis Tomlinson, Liam's ex-One Direction bandmate.

Following the event, Kate took to social media to share her awe, remarking, "What a crazy eye-opening experience! " and sending out praises to Louis with, "@Louist91 well done on such a beautiful film that everybody will love."

Post his broken engagement with model Maya Henry, which ended in May 2022 following an on-off romance, Liam seemed to have rediscovered joy with Kate until tragedy struck in Argentina.

Kate left Argentina just three days before her boyfriend's unexpected death. Insiders told TMZ that Payne and Kate had touched down in Argentina on September 30, before she cut her stay short, leaving Argentina on October 14. Payne continued solo, checking into the CasaSur Palermo Hotel by himself.

Kate posted a video of her journey back to the States on Snapchat, showcasing her outfits and meals during the lengthy flight home.
