Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks has said it's time for him to 'step aside' as he revealed his 'ban' when it comes to reality TV. The former The Only Way is Essex star is currenty currently taking part in the BBC One dance contest alongside Jowita Przystal.

The pair are currently in training for week four of this year's show after their surprise appearance in the ballroom over the weekend during Strictly's annual Movie Week.

Pete caught everyone off guard as he and Jowita Przystal performed the samba to the George Of The Jungle theme, scoring 26 out of a possible 40 points.

He left judge Craig Revel Horwood shocked when he opened the routine by dancing with his bum right in front of Craig's face after starting his latest performance by standing atop his side of the judging podium before a piece of intricate footwork almost saw him send Jowita flying across the ballroom.

But away from his new dancing talents, Pete has said he won't be doing any more shows such as Celebs Go Dating as he wants to give other people a chance. The 35-year-old rose to fame on TOWIE and has taken part in several other reality shows since - even appearing on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins at the same time as competing in Strictly.

However, he has admitted there is one show in particular that he would consider taking part in if he had his best friend and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here Sam Thompson by his side, the Mirror reports.

Speaking to The Sun, Pete said: "I won't be going back on Celebs Go Dating any time soon put it that way. I am banned from dating shows. At my ripe old age I am just going to settle for dying alone. You hear of single women and their cats. I'm going to be a single man with my dogs. Hopefully they don't eat me when I die."

He added: "I've had 10-years of doing shows. I've survived a decade. I have been a contributor on nearly every show. It is time to step aside and hand the baton on to younger, better looking, more talented people. Plus I am too old and have too much grey hair to be doing dating or reality shows anymore."

However, Pete said there is one show he'd do with his pal Sam. He said: "The only reality show I would still love to do would be Celeb Race Across The World which Sam (Thompson) would love us to do. To be honest he's the only person who would put up with me. I'd have to do it with him or alone. But I'm not sure Sam and I would finish together. I would probably have to leave him somewhere!"
