Speculation is building among fans about what might be included in a post-credits scene for the upcoming Superman film.

The James Gunn-directed movie is currently in post-production after wrapping up filming in the summer.

While there's no confirmation of cameos like Deadpool and Wolverine, or any extra treats for viewers post-credits, many enthusiasts believe they've figured it out.

Reports suggest that Alan Tudyk, known for his roles in A Knight's Tale, Firefly, Rogue One and Resident Alien, is set to feature in Superman Legacy in a 'secret role'.

According to Deadline, Tudyk will appear in the movie, but his character remains unconfirmed.

Superman Legacy is set to kickstart a new cinematic universe for DC Studios, under the leadership of director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran.

Gunn, famed for directing the Guardians of The Galaxy trilogy and segments in Avengers where those characters appeared, is known for including significant post-credits sequences in each title.

Fans are now theorising that Tudyk could make an appearance in such a way to establish another DC studios property, reports the Daily Star.

The versatile actor lends his voice to Doctor Phosphorus in the upcoming animated series Creature Commandos, although he might not reprise the role in a live-action adaptation.

Amidst speculation, fans recall Tudyk's previous portrayals of The Joker and Clayface in the Harley Quinn series, and Alfred in a Batman audio drama.

First look at David Corenswet as Superman

One fan suggested on social media: "Green Arrow? If not him, please cast Stephen Amell as Green Arrow."

Another shared their theory on X, previously known as Twitter, writing: "Either Krypto (Superdog) or some other kind of voice role for sure."

There are even musings that he might reprise his comedic role from the sitcom Powerless where he portrayed Van Wayne, Bruce Wayne's cousin.

With David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and stars like Nicholas Hoult, Skyler Gisondo, and Nathan Fillion gracing the screen as Lex Luthor, Jimmy Olsen, and Guy Gardner respectively, fans are eager but will have to wait until next year for definitive answers.

Superman Legacy is due to be released in cinemas on July 11, 2025.
