Victoria Taylor search enters day 10 as friend makes heartbreaking plea

by · Manchester Evening News

A friend has issued a heartrending 18-word plea stressing how much Victoria Taylor is "needed" by her family as the search for the missing mum continues into its 10th day. Victoria, aged 34, disappeared from her home in Malton, North Yorkshire, leaving her fiancé Matthew and their two year old daughter waiting.

CCTV captured her last at 11.35am on September 30, purchasing a drink at the M&S located within the local BP garage on Welham Road. Additionally, police have confirmed another sighting of Victoria on the same day, at 11:53am, at Malton Bus Station on Railway Street — this remains the most recent confirmed sighting.

She was noted for wearing a black Adidas puffer jacket with stripes down the sides, blue jeans, a camouflage cap, and carrying a pink/salmon Vans backpack; she also had an item that looked like a bag. Charlotte Cundill, a family friend, set up a Facebook page "The search for Victoria Taylor" to share updates, reports the Mirror.

In her latest post, Cundill emphasised the desperate need of Victoria's daughter and partner to have her return, writing: "Her baby girl needs her mummy and her partner needs her kind heart back home safe and well."

Charlotte has vowed that the search for Victoria will not cease until she is found. In a heartfelt message, she wrote: "Day 10, we miss you so much. I think it's safe to say you have touched a lot of hearts within this town.

"We will not give up until we find you. You're an inspiration to a lot of people and it really does show. Please keep handing posters out, please keep searching (meet up point today is train station between 9 and 9:30) please keep hope. Please stay safe."

She also expressed her gratitude to the volunteers aiding in the search for Victoria, adding: "Thank you for everything you have all done so far and continue to do. We appreciate you all so much."

Over the past week, police have been conducting extensive enquiries in their efforts to locate the mother-of-one. The investigation has involved the collection and review of CCTV footage and passive data research.

They have searched key areas of both land and water and interviewed several witnesses.

In a Monday update, Inspector Martin Dennison from North Yorkshire Police said: "This is an extremely difficult time for Victoria's family, and we are continuing to do all we can to try and find her. The focus of our search remains the area around the River Derwent and Victoria's family members are aware of this and the wider strategy that is in place.

"The family and the police understand the local community wanting to show their support with the searches for Victoria, but we urge people to exercise caution when searching particularly near to the river."
