According to the publication, Dean Goodman said of her devastating death: "She loved Greece and told me that she was going back with her new husband - but she has tragically died there a fortnight ago. Georgina had been unwell during Covid and had developed some health problems and had been in and out of hospital."

"But she had plans for the future," he added. "She had just married and was looking forward to her life. Everybody is devastated. She was a genuine superstar."

The supermodel first shot to fame after she was spotted by a modelling agency at the age of 13 and her break-through moment came when she appeared in Bon Jovi music video, at the age of 15.

She then became one of the iconic faces of the nineties and was suitably dubbed London's "original gap toothed girl", while working as a muse for renowned photographer, Corrine Day. She appeared on the cover of a host of fashion magazines including American Vogue.

Known as George to those who knew her well, she quit life as a model to focus on raising her son. Recently, she had been working in the world of hospitality in Kent - a world away from the glitz and glamour of fashion.

Friend and fellow supermodel Jade Parfitt told MailOnline: "Her friends and family are absolutely devastated, Georgina was a ray of light, a very popular model who was riotously fun, always laughing and being naughty in all the best ways. We all wanted to hang out with George backstage. Her achievements in the industry were huge."

In an Instagram post, he paid tribute to the star as he said: "I'm in total shock, and talked to her not long ago to meet up after she just got married. She was the original gap toothed girl! I will miss her immensely, rip in peace, Georgie girl, I will never forget you and always love you, see you on the other side."

Georgina swapped the catwalk for the wedding aisle when she married Nigel near her home in Maidstone, Kent, surrounded by close friends and family. The wedding reception was held at a local pub in June. Soon after the couple enjoyed their honeymoon in Kos, as they shared their special day on the island's community Facebook page.

At the end of October, Georgina then returned to the picturesque island and it was during this trip she sadly passed away after suffering with health issues, stemming from during the pandemic.
