BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland says 'it's going to be difficult' after 'wobble'

Chris McCausland has shared how his time in the ballroom is 'going to be difficult' as his Strictly Come Dancing journey continues. The comedian is competing in the BBC One dance contest alongside professional dancer Dianne Buswell.

They were seen making it through to week four of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series last weekend, during which Chris and Dianne performed an energetic jive to the Wayne World's theme as part of the show's Movie Week special.

But despite impressing and getting their highest score of the series so far, 30 out of a possible 40, from the judges, Chris has admitted to having a 'wobble'.

He admitted in his new Strictly diary column for The Telegraph: "Such is the pressure we place on ourselves for the Saturday show that I had a bit of a wobble and ended up convincing myself that I was destined for doom on national television and that I would be taking poor Dianne down with me.

"I will never again underestimate the power of a good night’s sleep though, as a solid 10 hours that Friday night left me feeling like a new man by Saturday morning."

His seven from Craig Revel Horwood, who he has developed a friendly rivalry with, also came as a surprise to Chris. He wrote: "After my wobble on the Friday, to say I feel like I got away with it is an understatement. Last week was our highest score so far and we even got a , which is like a 12 from anybody else.

"We are improving, but so are my fellow contestants and so it’s going to be difficult to remain in this competition for long. I will give it my all though, because I’m actually really enjoying this dancing lark – but don’t tell anybody that, I’ve got a reputation to uphold."

Chris and Dianne, meanwhile, have since been back in training for their next live performance in the famous ballroom, which will see them dance a Salsa to Men At Work's 'Down Under' during the next live show on Saturday night (October 12).

But the 47-year-old, who is Strictly's first blind participant, confessed: "We’ve been practising hard, and I’ve only dropped her seven times. So far anyway..."
