Two UK tourists found dead in Crete hotels as police launch investigation

Two British nationals have been discovered dead in separate hotel rooms on the Greek island of Crete. The bodies of a 71 year old woman and a 58 year old man were found in their respective accommodations in Hersonissos, a town popular with British holidaymakers.

Both incidents occurred on Wednesday and are currently being treated as unrelated by local police. The elderly woman was found unresponsive by her son in their hotel room, with emergency services declaring her dead at the scene, reports the Mirror.

In a separate incident, a British man was found deceased in another hotel in the same town. Despite being rushed to hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival. Both individuals are believed to have had previous health conditions, with autopsies now underway to provide further insight into the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
