Strictly Come Dancing's Pete Wicks shares quality he likes in a woman amid dating rumours

by · Manchester Evening News

Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Pete Wicks has revealed what he finds attractive about women away from their appearance, while ongoing romance rumours swirl around the star.

The The Only Way Is Essex personality is often romantically linked to females in the public eye, but recently confirmed that he is single and not quite ready to settle down.

Ahead of his admission, Pete, 36, opened up about his approach to dating in his book, titled Never Enough.

In one chapter, the reality star said that after his mother gave up work when she married his dad, he believed that "men are supposed to go out and work and the women stay home and look after the kids".

After they split and his mum struggled to get back on her feet however, Pete realised such a dynamic wasn't for him and that he doesn't expect the same from a woman.

He wrote: "I think ambition is one of the sexiest qualities in a woman, but it was something that had made its way into my head.

"I still always pay for everything when I take women on dates, even if they’re much more successful than me.

"It’s not about wanting to have the upper hand, it’s just about feeling like I can provide something."

Pete has had many relationships in the public eye, including romances with former co-stars Megan McKenna, Shelby Tribble and Chloe Sims.

More recently, he has been linked to Love Island star Maura Higgins and his Strictly Come Dancing partner Jowita Przystał, but has since confirmed he isn't dating anyone.

Following claims that he appeared to kiss Jowita during their American Smooth on the show earlier this month, he set the record straight on his and Sam Thompson's Staying Relevant podcast.

"They called it a passionate kiss, it’s the choreography, and we didn’t," he clarified.

Addressing his public perception following his many years on TOWIE, he added: "I had this bad boy persona, and that’s my fault, but the person I am now is different to the person I was 11 years ago, and the person I am now is different to the person I will be in 11 years.

"You as a person move on, but the narrative doesn’t."
