Tommy Fury has shared details of his struggle following his split from Molly-Mae Hague as he boasted she 'couldn't have picked a better man to father her child'.

Molly-Mae and Tommy, who met on Love Island in 2019, confirmed they had parted way after five years together in separate social media statements in August.

Molly-Mae, 25, was the first to announce that she and boxer Tommy had broken up on August 14. Her Instagram Story read: "Never in a million years did I think I'd ever have to write this. After five years of being together, I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way. I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy's relationship has come to an end."

Addressing their one-year-old daughter, Bambi, Molly-Mae went on: "I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority. I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years. You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it's right to share this with you all."

Tommy then followed up with a separate Instagram Story less than an hour later. He said: “I am heartbroken to share that Molly and I have decided to end our relationship.

"The past five years have led to us having our beautiful baby girl, Bambi and I will be forever thankful to Molly for making me a dad. Bambi is our priority. Please respect our privacy, and our families’ privacy, as we navigate our way through this difficult time."

Now, as he prepares to release his first book, Lightning Can Strike Twice, Tommy has given his first interview giving his side of the story. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Tommy, also 25, said he added an extra chapter addressing his split from Molly-Mae.

While he still hasn't gone into details about the reason for the break-up, he told the publication: "The truth will come out in time and when it does I think a lot of people might regret their actions and unkind words. The whole world will, I reckon."

When addressing his mental health struggles, he said: "Probably this past year has been the most my mental health has been tested. It's not been sunshine and rainbows. The gym is my medication. Tell me when you come out of the gym after a great session feeling bad? Never!"

Tommy has also said that Molly-Mae could not have picked a better man to be the father of her daughter. Just after Bambi's birth, in January 2023, Tommy flew to Saudi Arabia to fight boxer Jake Paul. The younger half-brother of boxing champion Tyson Fury recalled: "Molly held the fort at home. She was super strong. I came back to a super strong mother and a beautiful baby.

"We took the bull by the horns. I can honestly say, for two young parents, we are two great parents. I couldn't have picked a better mother for Bambi." He continued: "And I know Molly would say the same. She couldn't have picked a better father for Bambi. We father and mother that baby like an egg in a shell. There is nothing more important. Being a father is the best thing I've ever done in my life. Ever. Having Bambi has changed my whole life."
