Strictly Come Dancing fans weren't just watching those on the ballroom floor over the weekend as they also spotted a string of famous faces watching along on the sidelines in the live studio audience.

It was a big night for the BBC One dance contest on Saturday (October 5) as it was the annual Movie Week special which saw the couples channel their inner film stars while performing routines inspired by an array of huge films.

Barbie and Ken were immortalised by Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec while the much-loved Professor Minerva McGonagall from Harry Potter, was re-imagined by Sarah Hadland in a tribute to Dame Maggie Smith following her death last month.

There was also a surprising appearance by Pete Wicks who donned an animal-print loincloth as she became George of the Jungle and Wyne Evans was unrecognisable as he transformed into the iconic Mrs Doubtfire, made famous by the late Robin Williams.

The latest live show opened with a group number from the show's professional dancers who transformed into minions from the Despicable Me franchise while Kai Widdrington, who was left without a celebrity dance partner this year, appeared as the film’s villain, Gru, donning a bald head and a prosthetic nose.

But it appears that at one moment during the show, Strictly viewers couldn't help but notice Veron Kay beaming in the background of his wife Tess Daly's link and took to social media at the time to comment.
