Manchester United confirm Ruud van Nistelrooy plan amid Ruben Amorim wait
by Ross Jackson · Manchester Evening NewsManchester United have confirmed that Ruud van Nistelrooy will speak to the media at the pre-match press conference before the clash with Chelsea, as talks continue over Ruben Amorim.
United's press conference will take place on Thursday and will be the first without Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman was sacked on Monday morning after a dismal run of results left United 14th in the Premier League table and without a win in the Europa League after three outings.
The Manchester Evening News revealed on Monday evening that Ruben Amorim had agreed a deal in principle to become the next United boss. United will have to pay Sporting €10million in compensation, a fee which is deemed an acceptable fee by the United hierarchy.

Amorim spoke to journalists on Tuesday night after Sporting's 3-1 Taça da Liga win over CD Nacional and said: "In this moment, I have nothing to say and everything that I say will cause more noise. There's nothing concrete to say right now, but when I have to speak about the subject, I will. When I have something concrete to say and not just something that will fuel speculation, I will.
"We still don't know the finer details so we will see. Everything I say now will only fuel speculation so when I have something to say, I will say. I've always been clear about my decisions and the decision is mine as the statement stated.
"When I am sure of everything, everything will be easier because to say something now is not the best action to take."
