Man arrested for GBH following early hours attack

A man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following an early hours attack in Trafford.

The 26-year-old is being questioned by police over an alleged assault which left a man with facial injuries.

It took place on Flixton Road, Urmston at 12.55am today (Sunday).

The 47-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment. Police say his injuries are not 'life-changing or life-threatening'.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of an assault on Flixton Road in Urmston at around 12.55am this morning.

"A 47-year-old male victim suffered facial injuries which are not life-changing or life-threatening. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

"A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody."
