DI Ray series 2 cast sees Waterloo Road and Coronation Street stars join Parminder Nagra in new season

by · Manchester Evening News

ITV's hit series DI Ray returns to our screens, plunging DI Rachita Ray (portrayed by Parminder Nagra) into another complex murder case. A deadly drive-by shooting outside a Birmingham hospital results in two fatalities: a young nurse and the notorious leader of a local gang.

As DI Ray scrambles to solve the case, the pressure mounts to prevent a full-blown gang war incited by retaliation from the crime boss's relatives. Excitement builds with the announcement of a second series of six episodes for DI Ray.

ITV Commissioning Editor Helen Perry expressed her enthusiasm: "Delighted that D.I. Ray will be returning to our screens for a second series. Not only is it an adrenaline-fuelled, gripping thriller, it is also a bold and unique police drama that has something to say about contemporary Britain."

"Thanks to Maya Sondhi for creating another nail-biting series, to Parminder who is spell-binding as DI Rachita Ray and to all at HTM Television for delivering another captivating series. I can't wait for viewers to watch it."
