by · Manchester Evening News

This heartbreaking photo has been shared of a miracle baby girl in hospital after her mum died following a fall from a tower block.

The photo of baby Posie was shared on Facebook by her big sister Demi on Tuesday (October 22), following the devastating news that their mum Emma Atkinson had died after falling from a 90ft tower block in Burmantofts in Leeds. Posie was delivered five weeks early and reportedly remains in 'critical care'.

The picture shows her in a hospital cot, hooked up to lifesaving tubes. Mum-of-five Emma, who was known to many as Emma Acko, had named the unborn girl just weeks before her tragic death, the Mirror reports.

In a poignant final post on Facebook a month ago, the mum shared a photo of herself proudly displaying her baby bump, with a child seen hugging her legs. She wrote in the comments: "It's a girl, couldn't be happier."

Emma's good friend Martyne Taiwo said the pair had been close friends from a very young age. She told Yorkshire Live: "She was bubbly, excited, full of life, she had a real zest for life.

"She was a big people pleaser. You never really knew what was going on, unless you totally knew her totally, unless you were sat up on the phone at 3am or 4am in deep conversation.

"We were good friends all through our lives, she was my crutch."

West Yorkshire Police confirmed they were called by the ambulance service to Shakespeare Towers at around 10.30am on Tuesday morning. The force added that there were no 'suspicious circumstances' surrounding the incident.

In a previous statement, police said: "At 10.24am today, police were contacted by the ambulance service who had been called to an incident where a woman had fallen from height at Shakespeare Towers, in Shakespeare Approach, Burmantofts. The woman died at the scene as result of her injuries.
