Beloved mum and dad killed with two children in horror head-on M6 crash pictured

A mother and beloved chef who tragically lost their lives in a horrific head-on collision on the M6 have been locally identified as Jade McEnroe, 33, and Jaroslaw Rossa, 42, both from Glasgow.

Mr Rossa and Ms McEnroe were pronounced dead at the scene near Tebay services, along with his two children, Filip, 15, and Dominic, seven. The group from Glasgow are believed to have been returning from a trip to Legoland in a Toyota.

The tragic incident happened around 4pm on Tuesday. Cumbria Police reported that a Skoda had been driving southbound on the northbound carriageway. Officers were dispatched following reports of the vehicle's wrong-way travel, but before they arrived, it had already collided head-on with the Toyota.

The Skoda's driver, a 40-year-old man from Cambridgeshire, also perished in the smash.

Jade's other child, a seven-year-old boy, was airlifted with serious injuries to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he is still fighting for his life, as shared by a fundraiser set up to support the youngster's family. Those close to Ms McEnroe are utterly heartbroken, with condolences and tributes pouring in via social media channels, reports the Daily Record.

On social media, Nicola Thompson shared her grief: "We grew up next door to to Jade and her lovely mum and dad. Have loads of lovely memories together. Life is so cruel, I'm praying for [the child] who is the most sweetest little boy with his whole life ahead of him. Rest in Peace Jade McEnroe and your beautiful family."

Meanwhile, Maggie Snodgrass conveyed her sympathies, saying: "Rest in peace to all my thoughts are with both families at this sad time xx".

Nichola Smith expressed her condolences: "Rest in peace Jade McEnroe. I hope you and your family are at peace .... prayers your mum and dad. God rest you xxx".

Mary Brown extended her heartfelt sympathies, saying: "Rest in eternal peace Jade and your wee family. God has sure got an angel with him."

"Rest in peace Jade. Love to your family thinking of them," said Janice Mcguire. While Sarah Bryce added her words: "God bless you Jade McEnroe and your family."

The bereaved family is receiving support from specially trained officers.

Mr Rossa, understood to be a much-loved father, worked at Wagamama in Silverburn shopping centre in Glasgow. Thomas Heier, the CEO of the restaurant, expressed to the BBC that his colleagues are "heartbroken" by the loss, describing Jaroslaw as a "cherished chef and friend", reports the Daily Record.

While police have not yet formally identified Mr Rossa, his employer issued a statement honouring him and the "huge impression" he left during his eight years at the restaurant. Heier said he had "unforgettable relationships with the team members and guests who had the pleasure of knowing him".

He said: "His warmth, dedication and kindness are the characteristics of Jaroslaw that will stay with the team long after his passing. We send our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family, for which we know he was deeply devoted. Jaroslaw, you will live in our hearts and minds forever."

After the harrowing incident, the M6 Northbound carriageway was eventually reopened early on Wednesday morning. Images on social media showed a grim scene, with dark smoke billowing into the skies above the motorway where the accident happened.

The images further captured the severe traffic delay caused by the crash, as vehicles stood still, extending across all three lanes.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help relatives financially, and has witnessed an overwhelming response after being launched just yesterday. The fund has already attracted more than £4,500 towards its £5,000 target.

A Cumbria Police representative issued a statement requesting public help: "We are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision on the M6 Northbound past Tebay Services. Officers were called to the incident at 4:04pm yesterday (Oct 15) The collision involved two vehicles a Skoda and a Toyota. The driver of the Skoda, a man from Cambridgeshire was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"The driver, a man, a woman and two children in the Toyota from Glasgow were also pronounced deceased at the scene. A third child in the Toyota was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious injuries. The families of those involved are being supported by specially trained officers. The M6 Northbound fully reopened in the early hours of this morning.
