BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Vito Coppola reveals dad's 'important educational lesson' leaving them in awe

Vito Coppola has revealed his dad's 'important educational lesson' that he's carried with him as he returns to training with Sarah Hadland for Strictly Come Dancing.

The pair had an emotional weekend in the ballroom as they danced a Foxtrot to Birds Of A Feather by Billie Eilish on Saturday night (October 12) following their moving Harry Potter-themed Movie Week performance in tribute to the late Dame Maggie Smith following her death last month.

But it was ahead of their latest performance, Sarah broke into tears as she spoke about the importance of the song to her. "It's about my family, and it's about me and my little one," she told Vito.

"This song is special to us because we sing it together and we have a little picture of us both as birds that we made together... It would be really lovely to show how I feel in the dance." Vito added: "I promise you I will do my best in order to make sure the dance will represent your relationship."

They faced some tough critique from the judges before they were given a score of 27 out of a possible 40 from the judges and they were later seen looking relieved and grateful as they made it through to week five of the BBC One dance contest during the latest results show on Sunday night (October 13).

Actress Sarah and reigning Strictly champion Vito have since returned back to the training room as they rehearse for their next routine, set to be seen this Saturday (October 19).

Taking to Instagram on Monday (October 14), Vito revealed he wasn't just cleaning the floor as he's previously been seen doing, but this time he had the mop out to give it more of a clean. "Basically, when I was a kid, I used to go with my father, because my father is a dance teacher, and before we started the rehearsal, we had to..."

He was then iterrupted by Sarah's arrival but later explained that every day before they started his school homework or his own dance class, he had to clean the floor, murals and the toilets before he could start anything else.

Vito went on to share alongside the post on Instagram: "Today Let’s start with 'mopping the floor'. This is one important educational lesson that my father taught me since I started to dance, because as he always says: 'The floor is the best for a dancer' and that’s why we have to treat it well and make sure that we take care of it every time before start rehearsal."

He added: "This is one of those lesson that educated me to appreciate every single thing. Thanks dad. And now let’s start to Danceeeeeeeee."

And fans were quick to respond to the update. @evacoxyfoxy said: "Love the insight to your life behind the glamour. Love love love the person you are. Got to be the best dance partner on Strictly. @mmmyummystrawberries gushed: "Thank you to you Dad for nurturing you and bringing out the best in you.
