Laura Woods issues apology live on TNT after Tyson Fury’s comments about Oleksandr Usyk

Laura Woods had to smooth things over when Tyson Fury let slip an F-bomb during TNT's boxing coverage on Saturday night.

Fury joined Woods on TNT's broadcast of the Nick Ball against Ronny Rios, where he discussed his hotly-nticipated rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. After suffering a split-decision defeat in May, which saw Usyk take the title of undisputed heavyweight champion, Fury is eager to challenge for the WBA (Super), WBO, IBO, and WBC belts against the still-unbeaten Ukrainian in December.

But Fury had more than just his own fight to be excited about, as his cousin Walter Fury triumphed over Dale Arrowsmith on the undercard that same evening, improving his record to 2-0 and giving the Fury family reason to celebrate. Ahead of the main event, Tyson sat down with Woods to talk about his upcoming clash with Usyk and his cousin Walter's victory.

During the conversation, Fury was asked about how he feels continuing to box at 36-years-old, to which he responded: "I've always been a bad man my whole life and I'm still one today at nearly 40 years old. Few years off 40, but still, I like to say that, it sounds more," reports the Daily Star.

He continued, outlining his strategy for the upcoming match: "However, I'm going to go in there with destroy mode. Last time I went to box him and I was being cautious. I was boxing the head right off him, let's talk facts. Anyone can get caught as we've seen in a lot of these heavyweight fights.

"But this time I'm not going for a points decision. I'm going to knock a motherf***** out. I'm not even sure if you can say that on TNT." Steve Bunce, clearly taken aback, responded: "I think you've said it," before Woods added: "It might be past the watershed, but I probably do have to apologise for a couple of people watching if you're offended by that.

"It is Tyson Fury though, so you might get a bit of that anyway." Unfazed, Fury continued with his usual bravado: "I'll apologise for my behaviour. If you don't like it, change the channel," leaving Woods momentarily cautious: "I thought there was going to be another one then."

Walter Fury clinched a victory on points against Arrowsmith after four rounds, improving his record following his debut win over Vasif Mamedov back in June. The evening's main event saw local favourite Ball successfully defend his WBA featherweight title, ending the fight against American challenger Rios in the tenth round with a technical knockout.

Ball dominated the final moments of the match with a strong right-hook that broke off a clinch; he then corralled Rios towards the ropes and unleashed a barrage of punches a combination of jabs and crosses that left his opponent overwhelmed. Rios' defeat was sealed as he toppled through the ropes and could no longer proceed in the gruelling bout.
