by · Manchester Evening News

Vito Coppola has responded to Strictly Come Dancing superfan Miranda Hart after she watched her friend and former co-star Sarah Hadland perform in the famous ballroom for the first time.

Reigning champion Vito and the actress, famed for her role in BBC sitcom Miranda, were among the 15 couples performing as the BBC One dance show officially got underway with week one of the competition last Saturday night (September 21).

The pair impressed with their dance, a quickstep, to the Dolly Parton classic 9 To 5, which saw them awarded a very impressive 30 points out of a possible 40 from the judges.

Vito and Sarah have since been in rehearsals for week two of the dance show, which will see the first dance-off and elimination of the 2024 series.

Comedian and actress Miranda, who starred in her self-titled sitcom from 2009 until 2015 alongside 53-year-old Sarah who played best pal Stevie Sutton, has offered her support to her former co-star and some advice to professional dancer Vito.

She uploaded a video of herself wearing a simple t-shirt dress that reached just above her knees. Addressing Sarah in the video, she offered to share her own choreography, saying: "This is just in case you or Vito need any information or choreography about the Paso. Okay, so I think it's like this. It's innate. It's innate. Inherent."

Miranda then proceeded to dance around her room and vigorously shook her t-shirt, which in turn lifted up to her waist and exposed her underwear. She went on to write across the clip: "A tee shirt dress is just a tee shirt on me it turns out. I showed the person I was doing book press with a lot of pant..."

In the main caption of her Instagram post, Miranda wrote: "I call this - A lot o’ pant. Just offering up some choreography suggestions for Saturday night @vitocoppola @hadderstime …. Vito - I am available for any support you may need dance-wise with Hadders."

She added: "Oh and I am not at all jealous of you being in a rehearsal room every day with my friend. Not remotely. Not at all. I am totally fine about it. As I say, not jealous at all. Nope. All good. Fine about it. @bbcstrictly."

Resharing the video to his Instagram Story, Vito embraced Miranda's input and said: "Thank you sooo much. We accept the guidelines and I will definitely take some inspiration for the choreography."
