Coronation Street viewers believe they've figured out what's wrong with Dee-Dee Bailey - and it's not pregnancy.

The character, played by Channique Sterling-Brown, first appeared on the cobbles in 2022 and has since become a hit with fans. However, Dee-Dee's life has taken a dramatic turn of late.

She discovered the horrifying truth about her fiance Joel Deering (Calum Lill), who was revealed to be a predator grooming and abusing young girls, including Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). The revelation of solicitor Joel's dark side shocked Weatherfield residents, with Dee-Dee swearing to bring him to justice.

Joel was subsequently arrested but released on bail. However, he disappeared last week, leading police to suspect suicide. In Monday's episode (October 14), it was confirmed that Joel was dead, his body found in a nearby river, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Initially thought to be suicide, a post-mortem later determined it was murder, as Joel had been struck on the head with a heavy object before being discarded. Amidst the turmoil surrounding Joel, Dee-Dee has sparked speculation among fans.

In recent episodes, she has behaved unusually, seeming to suffer hallucinations and bouts of sickness and vomiting. Coronation Street viewers have been left speculating wildly after Dee Dee's recent behaviour on the show.

On a Corrie fan page, one viewer remarked: "Dee dee was acting weird again last night. Went to drink her wine and then excused herself to the toilet..." Another fan speculated: "Was the sickness due to murdering him not pregnancy as she was supposedly waiting till after marriage?"

Echoing this theory, another added: "Yeah she did it. They didn't have sex - she was saving herself until they were married." A fourth contributed to the theory by saying: "She hasn't slept with anyone yet because of her religion. She killed him."

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
