A drug-impaired cyclist suffered non-life-threatening injuries last weekend after riding into traffic in North Kamloops and getting hit by a vehicle.

According to Kamloops Mounties, emergency crews were called to the intersection of Tranquille Road and Vernon Avenue just after 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4.

RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said a cyclist was struck by a vehicle turning right northbound onto Tranquille Road.

Investigators believe the cyclist was impaired by drugs.

“The person was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” Evelyn said.
