Impaired cyclist hit by car
by Tim Petruk · CastanetA drug-impaired cyclist suffered non-life-threatening injuries last weekend after riding into traffic in North Kamloops and getting hit by a vehicle.
According to Kamloops Mounties, emergency crews were called to the intersection of Tranquille Road and Vernon Avenue just after 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4.
RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said a cyclist was struck by a vehicle turning right northbound onto Tranquille Road.
Investigators believe the cyclist was impaired by drugs.
“The person was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” Evelyn said.
