BC Wildfire Service has nine personnel working on the wildfire burning out of control northwest of Cherryville, Tuesday morning.

Olive Norriss-Liete says the fire saw no overnight growth and still sits at 0.2 hectares in size.

“The fire is displaying rank one fire behaviour,” said Norriss-Liete. “Crews are currently working on cutting in trails for clear access.”

The suspected cause of the fire is lightning and it remains out of control.

The two spot-sized fires burning east of Vernon are now both considered under control by BCWS.
