Accident on Hwy 97

There are reports of an accident on Highway 97 north of Kelowna.

Witnesses tell Castanet the accident involves two vehicles at Highway 97 and Old Vernon Road near the airport.

Lorraine Robinson came across the scene shortly after it happened at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Robinson said a white car was in the ditch while a black SUV was on the highway.

“Traffic was impacted going both ways,” she said.

Emergency crews have been called to the scene.
