UPDATE: 3:25 p.m.

The RCMP Emergency Response Team has cleared the area near Kelowna General Hospital Wednesday afternoon, following an incident on Royal Avenue earlier in the day.

As of 3 p.m., a single unmarked police truck is parked in the driveway at 408 Royal Avenue, where police descended upon Wednesday morning.

The Kelowna RCMP has yet to provide any details about the incident, although neighbours told Castanet that officers announced through a loudspeaker they were executing a search warrant at the home.

Neighbours said they saw a woman leave the home, before officers threw two "flash-bang" grenades inside, followed by a drone.

UPDATE: 12:30 p.m.

People living near a Kelowna home that's currently the focus of police in tactical gear said a single individual left the home earlier Wednesday.

Police, they said, set up outside the Royal Avenue home and announced on a loudspeaker they had a warrant and demanded anyone inside exit.

They said a woman emerged and police since have sent a drone into the home.

Police still have yet to say what they're looking for.
