The spooky spirit is alive and well at the Summerland Museum & Archives Society, with plenty of events happening this Halloween.

The museum said this year they are fully embracing the season with not just one but two Halloween events.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, monsters will be taking over the museum.

"You can join us for a family-friendly "Monsters at the Museum" trick-or-treating event from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., or dare to be scared after dark as we ramp up the scare-factor in our one-off "Nightmare at the Museum" Halloween special from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m."

Monsters at the Museum is and free event and is suitable for kids aged 10 and under.

"Thank you to our generous sponsors, Nesters Market, IGA, and Shoppers Drug Mart for supplying candy," the museum added in their post.

Nightmare at the Museum costs $5 on the door. The museum said this event is not suitable for young children or those of a nervous disposition.

For those looking to venture into spooky tales throughout the community, join the museum for a 'Halloween Special' tour of Peach Orchard Cemetery.

Joined by the Okanagan Historical Society, attendees will get the chance to listen to spooky stories and tales of the paranormal in one of Summerland's oldest cemeteries.

The team is running just two tours this year and places are limited, running on Oct. 27 & 31 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $15/person or $10 for museum members and can be booked in person at the museum or over the phone at 250-494-9395.
