Most advance votes cast
by Nicholas Johansen · CastanetTuesday saw the most advance votes ever cast in B.C.'s history.
While the general provincial election is Oct. 19, voters have had five days of advance voting so far, with Wednesday being the last day.
On Tuesday, 181,669 British Columbians cast their vote, beating out the previous single-day record in the province, which was set on Oct. 10, by more than 10,000 votes.
This brings the total votes cast in the first five days of advance voting to 778,424, which is about 21.9% of the province's total registered voters.
Across the 12 ridings encompassing the Okanagan, Similkameen, Kamloops, Shuswap and West Kootenay regions, 119,149 votes have been cast, making up about 23.1% of the region's 515,070 eligible voters.
Once the advance polls close at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, those who've yet to vote can do so on Saturday.
