A report of one person shooting a gun at another person had Vernon RCMP and an Emergency Response Team at a residence on Westside Road, Saturday.

Const. Chirs Terleski, with the RCMP, said at about 11 a.m. on Oct. 12, Mounties received a report that a person had allegedly discharged a firearm at another person inside a home in the area.

“The victim made it out safely without injury and police were called,” said Terleski in an email.

“A multi-member response was initiated that included officers from the RCMP’s Southeast District Emergency Response Team.”

At about 5 p.m., three people surrendered to police and were taken into custody.

Mounties say two people were later released, but a 49-year-old Vernon man was remanded into custody. He faces a number of potential firearm related charges.
