UPDATE: 12:30 p.m.

People living near a Kelowna home that's currently the focus of police in tactical gear said a single individual left the home earlier Wednesday.

Police, they said, set up outside the Royal Avenue home and announced on a loudspeaker they had a warrant and demanded anyone inside exit.

They said a woman emerged and police since have sent a drone into the home.

Police still have yet to say what they're looking for.

A heavy police presence has been spotted in Kelowna.

Several armoured police vehicles as well as officers in tactical gear and carrying guns have converged on a home in the 400-block of Royal Avenue.

Police have closed a portion of Long Street, between Royal and Glenwood Avenue, as they continue dealing with the issue.

Police on scene had little to say though police elsewhere said that they should have more information available soon.
