The long losing streak is finally over.

The West Kelowna Warriors had a successful start to their first ever Alberta road trip Friday and, in the process, ended their five-game losing streak.

The Warriors spotted to home town Sherwood Park Crusaders a 3-1 first period lead then stormed back with five unanswered goals over the final 40 minutes for a 6-3 victory.

The Crusaders jumped out to a 2-0 lead by the midway point of the first before Owen Drury buried his first of the season to get the Warriors on the board 13:44 into the opening 20.

Christian Chouha made it 3-1 with two minutes to go in the period, by Dawson Labre slammed the door the rest of the way.

Jack Pridham started the comeback 35 seconds into the second with the first of his two on the night then Cal Hughes tied it three minutes later on the power play.

Sam LeDrew gave the Warriors their first lead of the night before the second period ended.

Goals from Dylan Krayer and Pridham on a late five-on-three closed out the scoring in the third.

LeDrew had two assists to go with his goal while Jackson Kyrkostas had three assists in the winning effort.

Labre turned aside 32 shots to earn the victory.

The Warriors close out this brief two-game Alberta road trip Saturday night in Spruce Grove.
