A half-dozen goals were not enough for the Kamloops Blazers on Friday in Langley, where they lost 8-6 to the Vancouver Giants.

Tommy Lafreniere (2), Emmitt Finnie (2), Max Sullivan and Nathan Behm were the goal scorers for Kamloops. Former Blazer Connor Levis (2), Ty Halaburda, Kyren Gronick, Aaron Obobaifo (2), Jakob Oreskovic and Mazden Leslie were the goal scorers for Vancouver.

The Blazers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and then found themselves up 4-3 after an eventful first period. The Giants scored four of their own in the second to put the game out of reach.

Logan Edmonstone made 17 saves on 21 shots for the Blazers. Dylan Ernst took over early in the second period and stopped 22 of the 25 shots he saw.

The Blazers scored once on four power-play opportunities and the Giants scored once on five chances.

Announced attendance at Langley Events Centre was 3,177.

The loss drops the Blazers to 1-3 on the season.

They will be back in action on Sunday afternoon in Wenatchee against the Wild.

Their next home game will be on Tuesday, Oct. 15, when the Prince Albert Raiders visit Sandman Centre.
