‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Debuts On Digital Streaming This Week

Deadpool & Wolverine—Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s summer blockbuster—is new on digital streaming this week.

The film, of course, is the third of Reynolds’ R-rated Deadpool movie trilogy, which began with Deadpool in 2016 and continued with Deadpool 2 in 2018. Jackman last appeared as Wolverine in what was supposed to be the character’s swan song with Logan in 2017, but Deadpool & Wolverine was able to bring the actor’s deceased character back to life via Marvel’s multiverse.

Deadpool & Wolverine opened in theaters on July 26. The logline for the movie reads, “Deadpool (Reynolds) is offered a place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by the Time Variance Authority, but instead recruits a variant of Wolverine (Jackman) to save his universe from extinction.”

Per 20th Century Studios, Deadpool & Wolverine will debut on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday on such digital platforms as Prime Video, AppleTV+ and VUDU.

Prime Video, however, will start offering the film for purchase or rental on Monday at 9 a.m. PT, which is 12 a.m. on the East Coast.

The pre-order price for Deadpool & Wolverine is $29.99, which is generally a reflection of a film’s purchase price. Digital rentals are typically $5 less, so viewers will be able to rent the movie for $24.99 for a 48-hour period.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Is The Second-Highest Grossing Film Of 2024

Deadpool & Wolverine, per The Numbers, has earned $629 million domestically and nearly $690 million internationally for a worldwide box office total of $1.319 billion to date.

According to Variety, Deadpool & Wolverine had a production budget of $200 million before prints and advertising costs.

Thanks to its massive box office haul, Deadpool & Wolverine is the second-highest-grossing film of 2024 behind Inside Out 2.

According to The Numbers, Inside Out 2 has taken in nearly $653 million domestically and $1.034 billion internationally for a global box office tally of $1.687 billion to date.

Rotten Tomatoes critics gave Deadpool & Wolverine a 78% “fresh” rating based on 402 reviews and RT users awarded the film with a 94% “fresh” Audience Score based on more than 25,000 verified ratings.

Deadpool & Wolverine is still playing in theaters and debuts on digital streaming on Tuesday.
