Samsung continues its early Black Friday sales with another huge Galaxy S24 Ultra price cut.

The Korean company has launched a promotion called “Samsung Week” that discounts several products in its line-up. One of the bigger price cuts is for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, now $270 cheaper in the U.S. and 20% less in the U.K.

The U.K. sale knocks 20% off the flagship Samsung phone when the code “TWENTY” is used at checkout. This sale also comes with discounted Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watches and the Galaxy Ring when bought with the phone. The offer ends in 13 hours at the time of writing.

The Samsung U.S. offer comes in two parts. There is a straight $120 discount if the Galaxy S24 Ultra is bought in select colors (blue, green and orange). Or, if you don’t have a device to trade in Samsung will knock $270 off the phone.

Both are hefty discounts. But, as has become typical, Samsung has also upped its trade-in prices for your old device. The top valuation is reserved for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which isn’t a trade I recommend because the device is so new.

If, however, you are a chronic upgrader who can’t resist the FOMO of a new handset, then you will pay $549.99 for the Galaxy S24 Ulta after all discounts have been applied. Not bad for a top-end phone. It’s even cheaper to buy through the Samsung app and redeem the “App5” code (provided you're a first-time buyer).

For everyone else, Samsung does have some decent valuations for older smartphones here.

  • Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra - $650
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra - $600
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra - $400
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus 5G - $400
  • Google Pixel 7 Pro - $300

The Apple pricing is surprisingly poor for this sale. For example, Samsung will only pay $350 for the iPhone 12 Pro Max, yet it will pay $400 for the S20 Ultra which was released in the same year. You might get a similar price for your iPhone 12 Pro Max, or perhaps more, on the secondary market.

It’s the same for the base iPhone 13, which Samsung values at $200. Its pricing for Google tech is poor, too. The most Samsung is offering for your old Pixel is $300 for last year’s Pixel 8 Pro.

If you want to be extra savvy, have a look around for working Galaxy S20 Ultra units on the secondary market. I found some for under $180 in trade-in condition, which could net Samsung’s $400 discount if listings are accurate about the state they're in. If this sale has come too early, though, the Korean company’s actual Black Friday deals are only a few weeks away. I suspect Samsung is saving its best deals for then.
