Why Oregon can cover
The Ducks have now rolled to a 5-0 start in Big Ten play, including that massive win over Ohio State in Week 7, a shutout at Purdue in Week 8 and a 38-9 blowout of Illinois in Week 9. They've now covered the spread in three straight and four of their last six after beginning the year 0-2 ATS. Oregon has talent all over the field, but it is particularly stacked at the skill positions.
Receivers Tez Johnson (638 yards, 8 TDs) and Evan Stewart (446 yards, 3 TDs) make up one of the best duos in the nation. Running back Jordan James has an impressive 136-800-8 rushing line. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel has been extremely efficient, completing 76.2% of passes for 2,371 yards, 18 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Michigan, meanwhile, ranks near the bottom of the Big Ten in total and scoring offense and doesn't appear to be built to keep up in this one. See picks at SportsLine.
Why Michigan can cover
The Wolverines hope they've found something at quarterback in Davis Warren, who performed well against Michigan State. Warren won the starting job out of camp before giving it up and then earning it back again in Week 9. He completed 13-of-19 passes for 123 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions against the Spartans.
The running back duo of Kalel Mullings (123-694-7) and Donovan Edwards (89-415-3) should pose some issues for an Oregon rush defense that ranks 11th in the Big Ten. Only one opponent -- then-No. 3 Texas -- has surpassed 30 points against Michigan, so the Wolverines will be tough to blow out at home. See picks at SportsLine.
