Patient Southern Californians feeling heat relief

INLAND EMPIRE - (INT) - Seer is working to pare a few more degrees from Southland thermometers.

KEY POINTS
• Temperatures will gradually fall in coming days with widespread near-average temperatures by Sunday.
• Locally dense fog for the nearshore waters, beaches, and coasts up to 10 miles inland through Thursday.

Forecasters are counting on a pair of Pacific weather systems to bring temperatures down to normal over the next several days. The first will make an indentation this weekend followed by another the middle of next week. The persistent marine layer will bring occasional low clouds and fog to the coastal areas but will fluctuate in depth and coverage.

Expected high temperatures for Thursday and Friday:
Beaches: Low to mid 70s
Metro Inland Empire: 89° to 95°
Mountains below 6000 ft: High 70s to high 80s
High Desert: 89 to 97°
Low Deserts: 102 to 106°
