After all of these trailers showing off things like the story and the world of Wired Productions’ KARMA: The Dark World, where’s the gameplay? That’s been answered with a new trailer that recently debuted at the Convergence Games Showcase, detailing the dystopian life of the game’s citizens – and the twisted experiences of a mind dive performed on a simple office worker accused of treachery.

In addition to revealing some of the investigation mechanics players will be tasked with using in their search for the truth, the new trailer also confirmed that KARMA: The Dark World will be getting a playable demo at the Steam Next Fest starting on October 14. The demo itself aims for “a rich slice of the full experience” for KARMA, showcasing some of the meticulously detailed environments that were revealed in the new trailer, and offering players a chance to get their feet wet as a Roam Agent with the investigative tools and narrative depth that define the game.

As Roam Agent Daniel McGovern, KARMA: The Dark World takes place in East Germany, 1984. As a Roam Agent for the omnipresent Leviathan Corporation’s Thought Bureau, you have been brought in to investigate actions that have happened in a very specific moment in time. To do so, Daniel infiltrates the memories of suspects to retrace their steps and piece together his investigations. In doing so, Daniel uncovers fragmented memories of his own lurking within the shadows.

KARMA: The Dark World is currently in development for a release on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
