John Mahama Urges Voters to Choose Experience Over Experimentation in North East Campaign

by · News Ghana

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has called on Ghanaians to prioritize experience by voting for him in the upcoming elections, positioning himself against Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

During a campaign tour in the Northeast region, Mahama reflected on the 2016 elections, recalling how President Akufo-Addo appealed to voters to “try me.”

He emphasized the challenges faced by the current administration, asserting that his proven track record as a former president qualifies him to lead Ghana during this crisis.

“I have the experience, and I have done it before,” Mahama stated. “Ghana has seen my leadership and the achievements of my administration. In these challenging times, we need someone with experience to restore stability to the nation.”

He criticized the current government, drawing an analogy: “If a driver and his mate drive you into a ditch and you manage to get the car out, would you hand it back to them? No, you would choose a more experienced driver who knows how to navigate.”

Mahama’s comments underscore his campaign’s focus on leveraging past leadership experience as a decisive factor for voters seeking reliable governance.
